Hello, It's Me

A long time ago, in a personality and lifestyle far, far away, I had a blog called Here's to Forever. If you want to see what it was like to pretend to be straight while navigating early adulthood, I welcome you to check it out. I rediscovered it tonight, and very nearly made my first post in 12 years to recap everything that has happened. As you might have guessed, that quickly felt impossible. Foolish. Inadequate. There has just been too much of... Well, of everything. Feelings, events, introspection, extrapolation, reinvention, discovery. It couldn't be summed up in any way that would make any sense to anyone but me.

So, I've decided to start fresh. Sure, I'll recap a little bit just so we're all on the same page (pun always intended), but as a whole this new blog will be a launching point from where I am now. From the perspective of a 40-something-year-old, femme-of-center, queer single mother with two kids, two dogs, too much student debt, a healthy helping of gender dysphoria, and a penchant for mixed methods and marketing research. If that perspective feels too niche to be interesting to you, dear reader, let me assure you that the things that piss me off will also piss you off, the things that confuse me will also confuse you (or bring an odd sense of clarity), and the lessons I learn will seem oddly familiar (because you probably learned them far sooner than I did).

Welcome to my journey! Apologies in advance.
